EAN: 4260217682192 - ArtNr.:711216 - Resi Headend DVB-T

A DVB-T headend station enables (via modulation conversion) satellite TV at cascaded cable/antenna sockets.

  • A DVB-T headend station can be used as a replacement for a broadband cable connection. A satellite dish is sufficient for a large number of users.
  • An older coaxial cabling can continue to be used with a DVB-T headend station.
  • In combination with our distribution amplifier AMP X8 and EOC 1000/EOC 2000, the existing coaxial cabling can simultaneously be used to transmit GBit network data.
  • Expensive new cabling is not necessary.
  • The Digital Devices headend stations allow the conversion of 16 DVB-S/S2/S2X satellite transponders into 14 DVB-T transponders. This corresponds to about 100 SD channels, 48 HD channels of good quality. Using the best reception technology, even weak signals at the edge of reception areas can be received.
  • The low power consumption ~30-40 W (at full capacity) helps significantly reduce operating costs.
  • Our DDM software (Windows, Linux, and MAC OS) can securely manage and monitor any number of headend stations remotely.
  • Our headend stations are delivered in a robust housing manufactured in Germany.
  • The small housing has dimensions of 300 mm x 164 mm x 137.5 mm.
  • The fan with adjustable speed ensures adequate cooling.
  • We do not use electrolytic and tantalum capacitors in our components. This benefits environmental protection and ensures much higher durability (MTBF 500,000 hours and more).

Signal Input

  • Two eightfold DVB-S/S2/S2X tuners enable the simultaneous reception of 16 full DVB-S/S2/S2X transponders.
  • When using Unicable® or JESS®, all 16 tuners can be supplied via a single antenna cable.

Signal Processing

  • The Digital Devices headend stations convert incoming DVB-S/S2/S2X satellite transponders into DVB-T channels.
  • Other sources can also be fed as uni-/multicast streams, such as the self-presentation of a hotel.
  • Via the DDM software for Windows, MAC OS, and Linux, channels can be reordered and reassembled as desired.
  • Depending on the configuration of the headend station, input signals from 8 or 16 tuners can be processed.
  • 14 transponders are available as output.
  • For encrypted channels, 4 Common Interface slots are available (No CI+).
  • If a Common Interface is used in the system, decrypted channels can be fed through it.
Note: The regulations of PayTV providers or regional public broadcasters must be observed.

Signal Output

  • The Digital Devices residential headend stations output a DVB-T compatible data stream.
  • The newly assembled 14 transponders can be assigned to any of the 96 output frequencies from 114–848 MHz.
Note: For reasons of energy efficiency, our headend station does not perform transrating; the output data rate of a TV channel corresponds to the input data rate.

4 Maximum DVB-S2/S2X LDPC bitrate is limited to 720 Mbit/s.
This bitrate is defined as symbol rate * bits/symbol, i.e., 8PSK 30 M symbols = 90 Mbit/s.
The used bitrate is dynamically assigned by the driver.
DVB-S channels do not contribute to the limit.
